Insallation of:

94-97 STS Intake Tube

in a 97 2.2 4cyl. S-10

Start off by unplugging the 02 sensor plug from the stock tubing. Pull out the 02 sensor from the hose - you will be reusing it.

Loosen up the hose clamp that secures the tubing. You might need a screwdriver to pry the hose away, but it shouldn't be too difficult to pry the hose loose.

With the hose loosened up, you can now lift the whole air cleaner assemply up and out of the way.
To remove the other wierd airbox thingy, pry the plastic doohickies up. This will allow you to remove the top of the fan shroud (we are very techincal here).
Loosen up the hose clamp that secures the main hose to the throttle body. WIth this done, you can now remove all remaining stock air-intake components.
Now comes the fun part: installing the new intake kit. First, slide one of the new silicone hoses over the throttle-body opening.
Attach the first piece of the intake plumbing. Remember to slide on two of the provided hose clamps before you go any further.
Bolt the tube down to the A/C compressor. This will keep everything from moving around.
Plug the breather back into the valve cover and the new intake tube.
Before he went any further, Jay installed the 02 sensor onto the new lower intake tube.
The lower intake tube is then bolted onto the fan shroud using the stock hardware.
The new upper and lower intake tubes finally meet via a second silicone hose and another pair of hose clamps.
Double check that all hose clamps are tight...
All that's left to do is to plug in the 02 sensor plug and you're done.
There, that's a lot better. Your engine now not only looks better, but it will also perform better, and all in less than 30 minutes.
